Domaine Durieu came about through a marriage. Paul Durieu founded
the estate in1976 after inheriting vineyards from his mother, Lucile
Avril. From that time he has gradually built up the estate by
planting new vines and building a new cave.
Paul has now retired and the business is run by his sons, Vincent
who is responsible for the vineyards and making the wine and
François who is responsible for marketing and management. He is
assisted by their sister, Blandine
The ‘cave’ was created in 1976, with Châteauneuf-du-Pape grapes
coming from the family Avril and Plan de Dieu grapes coming from the
family Durieu.
Planted with very old vines undoubtedly going back to the First
World War but also with younger vines, the vineyard offers a
complete range of style from Ventoux, through Côtes du Rhône and
Côtes du Rhône villages to Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
