In 1985, Dominique and Marc Rouvière bought a property of 5.5
hectares in Chavanay near Condrieu. They had to do everything. They
started by repairing the cave which was situated in the middle of the
vineyard. Then they worked on the vineyard, planting the vines,
debudding, training the vines and finally harvesting.
Little by little, they developed their property, the buildings
and increased the vineyards they owned.
Dominique and Marc now work a little more than 16 hectares of
vines (average age of the vines being 35 years) and produce over
twenty thousand bottles. The cuvees include Condrieu, red and white
Saint Joseph and a charming unclassified sparkling rosé wine made
from Syrah.
Their ambition is to be able to continue for many years to
produce wines of quality with the assistance of their two children
Anaïs and Julien, currently learning viniculture.
Marc and Dominique Rouvière have some of the finest plots of
land in and around Condrieu and they consistently win award after
award.
